First Steering Committee Meeting

On February 9th, 2023, the first meeting of the INF ARMY Steering Committee was held in Warsaw.

One of the important points of the meeting was the election of the Committee's Presidium. Dr. Marcin Mazuryk, Director of the Department of Infrastructure at the Ministry of National Defense, was unanimously elected as the Chairman.

Colonel Krzysztof Kaleta was chosen as the Vice-Chairman, and Ms. Justyna Cielec was appointed as the Secretary.

Our team conducted a panel of three presentations discussing the project, its objectives, implemented activities, management structure, as well as dissemination and promotion.

On this occasion, each of the participants received a package of materials promoting the INF ARMY.

Dr. Wojciech Mróz, a Consultant on Nature Conservation, gave a speech discussing the collection of natural data and the development of an IT system for Natura 2000 areas on military grounds, which initiated a panel discussion led by Mr. Marcin Sienicki, Deputy Director of the Department of Infrastructure at the Ministry of National Defense.

Several very important statements and recommendations were made during the discussion.

Special thanks go to Ms. Marta Rzemieniuk, Director of the Department of Natural Resource Management at the Chief Inspectorate of Environmental Protection, Mr. Przemysław Musiał, representative of GLBULiGL, and Ms. Dorota Łukasik and Ms. Iwona Müller, representatives of the Department of Environmental Monitoring at the Chief Inspectorate of Environmental Protection, for providing us with key information necessary for creating our database, offering their cooperation and real help in carrying out this task.

We also thank the representatives of the military institutions for all the suggestions regarding the creation of the database - we will strive to meet each of them.
