The financial audit task encompasses standard control procedures required by the LIFE programme. An external auditor, appointed by the Beneficiary, will conduct a comprehensive verification of the final financial report to be submitted to the European Commission.

 

Scope of activities of the external auditor:

  1. Verification of project costs:
    • - Ensuring that all costs incurred under the project comply with national legal regulations and accounting principles.
    • - Confirming that the costs were incurred in accordance with the conditions specified in the grant agreement.
  2. Sources of funding:
    • - Verifying that the financial resources used for the implementation of the project do not originate from other financial instruments of the European Union.
  3. Certificate of compliance:
    • - The auditor will confirm that all expenditures comply with the LIFE programme rules and the grant agreement.

 

Deadlines and procedure:

  • - The financial audit will be conducted after the project’s completion, within two months of its conclusion.
  • - The financial audit report will be attached to the final project report, which will be submitted to the European Commission.

 

By conducting a financial audit, the project ensures full transparency and compliance with the LIFE programme requirements and legal regulations, thereby confirming the proper management of public funds.
